Tanzania is home to the Serengeti, one of the oldest national parks in the world. The Serengeti National Park is also one of the world’s largest parks and boasts countless species of animals, insects, reptiles, birds and plants.  The park also has an active volcano called Ol Doinyo Lengai. It erupts unusual lava that fertilizes the land, no other volcano on the planet has the same lava as this one. Tanzania is also home to Africa’s largest mountain Mt. Kilimanjaro, and Ngorongoro, a volcanic crater which serves as a natural wildlife reserve. ‍Tanzania also boasts the 2nd largest freshwater lake-Lake Tanganyika which has at least 500 species of fish.  Some of the world’s most beautiful beaches are found in Tanzania so if you are not interested in a safari then you can relax on the beaches, or browse the market places or indulge in their fine cuisine

Tanzania 12 Day trip

Day 01: Arrival in Tanzania

Clients’ arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Tanzania. Soon after clearing all the immigration procedures at the airport, transfer to the hotel in Arusha town, about 50Km in 45 minutes.

Accommodation in Arusha Mount Meru Hotel or similar hotel. Breakfast included.

Day 02: Arusha - Lake Manyara Park

In the morning after breakfast, leave Arusha for Lake Manyara National Park, with picnic lunch boxes, and arrive in the park after about 2.5 hours, and enter the park for the game drive.

Lake Manyara Park is well known for its climbing tree lions, and the bird life. At noon, picnic lunch inside the park, then continue the game drive till the end of the day. Accommodation at Karatu Simba Lodge / Bougainvillea Safari Lodge / Country Lodge, full board included.

 

Day 03: Lake Manyara - Serengeti National Park

In the morning, breakfast at the lodge, and then drive direct to Serengeti national park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A mid day picnic lunch on the way to Serengeti. Arrival in Serengeti park in the late afternoon and have a chance to view the wild animals in the park for the rest of the day. At the end of the day, dinner and overnight at Serengeti Simba Lodge / Katikati Camp / Heritage Camp, full board included.

Day 04: Serengeti National Park

Full day safari in Serengeti Park, early morning game drive starts at around 6:30AM till midday. All big five games can be viewed; lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and even the famous wildebeest migration depending on season. In the afternoon, drive back to the lodge for hot lunch followed by the optional afternoon pose in the lodge. Set out again for the late afternoon game drive in Serengeti Park till the end of the day. In the evening, dinner and overnight at Serengeti Simba Lodge / Katikati Camp / Heritage Camp, full board included.

Day 05: Serengeti Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Early morning game drive in the Serengeti Park, then returns for the late breakfast in the lodge. After breakfast depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area with optional stops en route in the Maasai Bomas or at Ngorongoro Olduvai Gorge. In the afternoon, picnic lunch en route in the Ngorongoro area. In the evening, arrival in the lodge, dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge or Kirurumu Tented Lodge, full board included.

Day 06: Ngorongoro Crater

Early in the morning leave with packed breakfast and descend into the crater floor for the crater tour. Early morning is the best moment to view animals while they are active. You will have a chance to view all the big five land mammals and other mammals. Enjoy the late breakfast by the hippo pool inside the crater, and then continue the game drive in the crater until afternoon. Leave the crater floor in the afternoon for hot lunch in the lodge. After the lunch in the lodge, leave Ngorongoro for Tarangire. On arrival in Tarangire, check in at Tarangire Simba Lodge / Maramboi Tented Camp / Burunge Tented Camp, full board included

Day 07: Tarangire National Park

After having your breakfast, game drive in Tarangire Park. Tarangire Park is well known for huge herds of elephants and baobab trees. The park derives its name from the river Tarangire which flows across this park. At midday, stop for a picnic lunch in the park or drive back to the camp for a hot lunch. After having the lunch, leave the park for Arusha town for overnight at Mount Meru Hotel or similar hotel, bed and breakfast Included.

Days 08-10: Project Days

Working with Peace Matunda School and Orphanage to refurbish 9 classrooms, or you can teach English or a STEAM class at the school, help us teach coding to girls or roll up your sleeves and help to refurbish the classrooms, build a desk, paint walls, etc. We are certain we can find a way for you to pitch in. Also you get to immerse yourself in the culture, learn some key phrases in the local language, learn to cook a traditional meal or a traditional dance, or activities such as bead making, etc.

Arusha – Kilimanjaro Airport

Day 02: Arusha – Tarangire Park

In the morning just after early breakfast, leave Arusha for Tarangire National Park, with picnic lunch boxes, arrive in Tarangire just before noon and start the game drive in the park.

Tarangire National Park is famous for baobab trees and huge herds of elephants. River Tarangire which crosses the park is very important to flora and fauna in this park. At noon, stop for picnic lunch in the picnic site in the park. After having the picnic lunch, continue the game viewing in the park till the end of the day. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Simba Lodge / Burunge Tented Camp / Maramboi Tented Camp, full board included.

Day 03: Tarangire Park – Ngorongoro Crater

Early in the morning, leave Tarangire for Ngorongoro Crater. On arrival at Ngorongoro, descend into the crater floor for the crater tour. In the crater floor, you will have a chance to view all the big five land mammals and other mammals. At noon, enjoy the picnic lunch by the hippo pool inside the crater.

Day 04 - 07

Return to Peace Matunda Campground to work on refurbishing a 9 room school block then depart to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.

5 days wildlife safari + 2 project days

Day 01

Drive to the Serengeti national park, game drive en-route across the Southern plain of the Serengeti national park which used to be the breeding ground for migratory Wild beasts,  migratory animals occupy the plain for breeding before moving clockwise towards the western Serengeti and northern thereafter cross the border . Dinner and overnight at the Campsite located in the middle of Serengeti National park, a place known as Seronera sometimes referred to as the heart of the Serengeti.

Day 02

Take an Early morning game drive at the heart of the Serengeti national park around the Seronera river circuit where common predators hunt in early morning. The river makes the base for the resident animals which are not migrant grazing on the river basin which is always green. Dinner and overnight at the Seronera campsite located in central Serengeti.

Day 03

Early morning game drive in Serengeti (central) and come back to the camp for Brunch (Breakfast and Lunch together) then proceed with game  en-route to the famous Ngorongoro conservation Area  for dinner and overnight.

Day 04

With picnic lunch boxes drive down  to the famous Ngorongoro crater for full day game drive, the Ngorongoro crater is sometimes referred to be the Garden of Eden of the Noah Ark, the crater provide the home for the big five, Wild beasts, Zebras and uncountable number of gazelles and thousands of  pinkish flamingoes. Later in the afternoon drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight.

Day 05 - 07

Project rebuilding the Peace Matunda School and orphanage or helping to educate the students in STEM and English.

Day 08

Spend a day learning more about Tanzanian and Meru cultures and go shopping in the local markets. Drive to airport

Note for Single Accommodations

Lodges,  hotels  and tented camps base their prices on double occupancy and charge an additional fee for solo travelers. Likewise, accommodations on Kilimanjaro, or staying in the Serengeti are priced based on two occupants to each tent. If you are traveling alone but would like to share a room/tent, every effort will be made to match you with a roommate.

You will be charged for the single occupancy, but refunded if you are matched with a roommate

Day 01: Arrival in Zanzibar

Arrival in Zanzibar, meet at the Airport/Seaport, transfer to the hotel in Stone town. Check in for one night in a double room (sea/pool view room) on a full board basis.

Day 02: Stone Town – Beach Hotel

In the morning, after breakfast, set out for Stone town tour; Zanzibar Stone town was declared as The World heritage site by UNESCO, with a local guide you will walk on the footsteps of Arab Sultans of Zanzibar. Discovery of the wonderful labyrinths of Zanzibar, visit of the historical sites, presentation of the Zanzibar doors, their roles and significance. Return to the hotel at around noon for lunch. After lunch, transfer to the beach hotel on the north or east of Zanzibar, accommodation on full board basis.

Day 03 - 06: Beach Stay

Four more days at the hotel beach stay, optional activities can be requested to the hotel operators, including Spice tour, Jozzani Forest, Safari blue, snorkeling, etc.

Accommodation on full board basis, Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel / Pongwe Hotel / Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel.

Day 07-09: (Optional)Peace Matunda Project then depart to the Airport/Seaport. Stay at Peace Matunda Camp site in Tents
