This 10-day group mountain biking trip through Rwanda will expose you to the rural life of Rwandans, and you will learn about the country’s history, culture, and social life while exploring different parts of the country.

Visit Rwanda and explore the country of thousand hills on two wheels and go for a ride with a Pro cycling team in Musanze, This 10-days group mountain biking will take you through the real rural life experience of Rwandans, you will learn about the country’s history, culture, and social life on your bike while exploring different parts of the country. It will also take you through beautiful tea, banana and coffee plantations, you can stop for breathtaking panoramic views of lakes, the slopes of the Virunga Mountains and also explore the banks of Lake Kivu and all of this with a marvelous backdrop of volcanic mountains.

You begin your magical holiday as soon as you board your flight to Rwanda, known as a country of a thousand hills, thousand smiles and thousand beauties.

Kigali city, Rwanda’s capital city known as the cleanest, greenest and safest city in Africa.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival at Kigali International airport, meet and greet our experienced drivers who will be expecting your arrival to transfer you to the Hotel, on the way you will enjoy the Kigali city’s sightseeing.

Day 2:

Exploring the safest, greenest and cleanest city in Africa (Kigali) on two wheels, in the morning, after breakfast, we will ride our bikes from the hotel and then it will be the perfect time for the city’s sightseeing including visit the Kigali genocide memorial, the Campaign against Genocide Museum, a local market, Kigali city center, and more. After the city tour, we’ll drive back to the hotel for the night stay.

Day 3:

Ride from Kigali to Akagera national park through the windy and scenic road surrounded by green rolling hills and different crop fields. Early morning after breakfast, your bikes will be ready to ride from Kigali to Akagera national Park.

Day 4:

Visiting Akagera cultural center, you will have a chance to meet the craftsman, the breeder, the healer, the blacksmith, the farmer, the dancer in one single place who will warm welcomes you to their real home (ancient houses replica) and working place where they will share their knowledge, values and how they spend their daily life, you will not only visit them but participate in some of the activities with them.

Learn, engage, connect and participate.

They teach the culture that was passed down from generation to generation and has a direct link with the history of Rwanda.

The Arts and crafts group will show you how local artisans create their products. Lunch break and Afternoon short game drive in Akagera National Park.

Back at the hotel for the night stay.

Day 5:

Transfer from Akagera national park to Musanze.

Evening bike ride while enjoying the fresh air and sun goes down behind the chain of volcanoes (high-land region in the country) while exploring Musanze town and its surrounding.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6:

Nothing beats the feeling of sharing the neighborhood with endangered mountain gorillas and morning ride on the slopes of its home (Volcanoes National Park) known as home to different wildlife including endangered Mountain Gorillas and golden monkeys.

With the perfect weather, deigned biking trails and friendly locals Musanze known as the biking lover’s paradise, you can expect to meet with different cyclists along the trail.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7:

Another exciting day of immersing yourself into Rwandan history and Cultural entertainment close to locals in Musanze at Gorilla Guardians village.

About the village

Gorilla Guardians provide a chance to meet local people, in their environment, with a taste of the Rwandan culture and traditions. The community you visit will genuinely welcome you as a special guest while they proudly present to you aspects of their traditions and beliefs. This will truly be an experience of a lifetime as you are being entertained by Intore dancers (traditional dancing troop).

The village is fascinating with a variety of cultural experiences it can offer, and probably the best way to get to know the local people, their culture, and their ‘ways of living” is to take part in daily life activities.

  • A rare chance of being a King or Queen and wear the outfit
  • Traditional wedding experience (recommended for couples)
  • Eight different types of traditional dances by all community categories; men, women, youths and the children, and other local and traditional musical instruments
  • Visiting a local traditional healer to hear about the different medicinal trees, shrubs, grass and their traditional medicinal uses and how they are administered to local patients.
  • Ex-poachers’ ways of hunting /techniques, methods and stories from ex-poachers in particular Batwa (pygmies).

Day 8:

Another day of exploring famous Burera and Ruhondo Lakes known as Twin-lakes on two wheels.

Morning ride from Musanze to the shore of these twin Lakes will give you a chance to interact with locals on their daily life experience from the village.

About the Twin Lakes:

Burera and Ruhondo are referred to as the twin lakes because they are interconnected at a point where one lake pours water into the other, they were formed as the result of volcanic eruption (Lava dammed Lakes) they are extremely beautiful, surrounded by rolling hills with 6 volcanoes view when the sky is clear.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 9:

Transfer back to Kigali for the night stay and PCR Covid test for outbound flight back home.

Morning after breakfast, Drive from Musanze to Kigali at Covid testing center and lunch at the hotel.

Evening relaxation and souvenir’s shopping (optional) and night stay at the hotel.

Day 10:

Transfer from the hotel to Kigali international airport for outbound flight home.

The above tour itinerary is provisional and can be modified if necessary to meet the need of the clients. The rooms’ availability in the proposed lodges will be confirmed at the time of reserving the safari with us. Reserving early is recommended especially for the arrivals in high seasons for the sake of rooms’ availability. Prices may change depending on the entry fees to parks or if any of the accommodations increase their prices, you will be notified in advance if any of these occurrences take place.
