Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport
You begin your magical holiday as soon as you board your flight to Rwanda, known as a country of a thousand hills. At your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will take a Covid test (PCR) and Mille Collines Hotel will pick you up from the airport for some hours quarantined and the night stay until the results are out, meanwhile you will be relaxing in your room while using the room service. https://millecollines.rw

Day 2: Kigali tour and Transfer to Volcanoes for Cultural experience
In this morning after breakfast, you will be picked by your Guide, you will have a short Kigali city tour, visit Kigali memorial site, Kimironko local market, then drive to Volcanoes National Park via Musanze town where you will have lunch, after that, you will visit Diana fossey gorilla found to get more information about mountain gorillas, then from there, you will drive to the lodge for overnight and dinner.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Transfer to Gisenyi after Covid test
Early in the morning, take breakfast and head to the Kinigi for three hours taking us over the rolling countryside of Rwanda, and later the great Volcanoes will come into Gorilla trekking. Each one of these stunning mountains possesses its own unique character and outline, even though together they form the great distant yet visually outstanding ecosystem. Volcanoes National Park was the very first destination in Africa to be affirmed a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This park is habitant to some of the remaining tranquil Mountain Gorillas remaining in the world. Following lunch at the lodge then transfer to the hospital for covid test which will be used for Chimpanzees trekking and canopy walk in Nyungwe. and transfer Gisenyi for overnight and dinner at Paradise malahide near the lake Kivu.

Day 4: Kayaking on Lake Kivu and transfer to Nyungwe national park for Covid test
A morning with coffee of course breakfast, then we pick you up at your hotel and transfer to the Lake Kivu for kayaking while relaxing and exploring the biggest lake in country, it is a 2 hours’ drive. Lunch break at the shore of the lake.
In the afternoon transfer to MANTIS KIVU MARINA BAY HOTEL for check-in, Dinner and the night stay, it is 4-5 hours’ drive while enjoying the scenic and windy road surrounded by the green endless rolling hills with aerial view of Lake Kivu not far from the road.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk-Way Visit
Pick up at your hotel at (5:00 am) in Kigali and transfer to Cyamudongo forest for chimpanzee trekking, one hour drive. Back at the hotel for lunch and the evening relaxation while preparing for canopy walk-way visit. In the afternoon, transfer to the park reception for the canopy walk visit, arrival, check-in, and completing the park formalities including briefings then start the nature walk to the bridge.
About Nyungwe canopy walk way: Suspended above a ravine in the lush montane rainforest of Nyungwe National Park, the canopy walkway provides an exhilarating perspective on the ancient treetops and wildlife.
The 160m long and 70m high Suspension Bridge is accessible as part of a guided tour along the Igishigishigi trail. Nyungwe Forest is the only place to experience canopy walk in the whole of East Africa and the 3rd in Africa.Drop off at the hotel around 6-7 pm. For Dinner and the night stay at the hotel.

Day 6: Covid Test for Flight, Tea Experience and Back to Kigali
morning after breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to nearby hospital for another Covid test which will be considered for flight, then drive to Gisakura tea plantation/factory tea plantation experience and drive to Kigali international airport, it is 5-6 hours’ drive.

Day 7: Day Safari to Akagera and drop off to Airport
A quick escape routed at just 2.5-3 hours journey from Kigali which will transfer you into a world of the big 5, birds & more as you drive through the central Africa’s largest protected wetland and the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda. Pick up at your hotel (Mille Collines), and transfer to Akagera National Park. Arrival at the reception, check-in, and briefings. Start a full day game drive in the park in search of animals with an opportunity to spot over 12 species of antelopes, over 525 species of birds including the rare ones such as the shoebill stock, papyrus gonolek, and the big 5 i.e. Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant, your favorite reptiles, amphibians, plants, magnificent landscapes, historical sites a place with the highest concentration of birds per square kilometer than any national park of Africa.
You will have a packed lunch box with a nice wilderness picnic setup.
Transfer back to Kigali – Drop off at Airport according to your flight time.
The above tour itinerary is provisional and can be modified if necessary to meet the need of the clients. The rooms’ availability in the proposed lodges will be confirmed at the time of reserving the tour with us. Reserving early is recommended especially for the arrivals in high seasons for the sake of rooms’ availability. Prices may change depending on the entry fees to parks or if any of the accommodations increase their prices, you will be notified in advance if any of these occurrences take place.
